It's simple economics, folks. The end user of any product pays for all the
marketing of that product.
When formula money is "used," the price of the stuff must increase to cover
the added marketing (etc) costs. That means the "free" lunches, pens,
trinkets are paid for by the mother who buys it for her baby, or US citizens
whose taxes buy it for mothers enrolled in a food supplement program.
The real victims of formula marketing is the mothers and babies who use the
stuff. They are the ultimate losers. And they are often members the least
affluent segments of our society.
I, for one, refuse to cooperate in making formula-feeding mothers pay for my
"free lunch" or note pad or inservice on "infant feeding."
