Thanks for the replies I have recieved so far on this baby.  I spoke to a local LC this evening who suggested that the baby may not be able to suck anymore in view of starvation and that maybe a few good feeds would give the baby the energy to suck and remember to suck and then we could fix up the attatchment and latch again.  Meanwhile another important issue that I forgot to mention is that the baby have developed breasts in the last 24 hours, Mum has never seen them before and now they are very obvious.  Anyone have any ideas on the possible cause of that?  Mum is seeing a paed tomorrow so it will be interesting to see what transpires after that visit.  Meanwhile, keep the replies rolling in, it all helps.
