My take on this film was two part: that babies have the instinct to seek out
the breast and self attach, and the effect of labor drugs on babies. There is
no where in this film that implies that moms should now try to use this method
for their newborns.

I also love showing this film to help clinicians understand how wonderful the
human is.

There is a situation where I do encourage parents to use this concept of "self
attachment" and that is the older infant who is refussing the breast and I
have them use the rebirthing bath.
Please do not read too much into this film and take it at it's face value.
