The discussion about smoking and the taste/smell memories reminds me of one
of my pet theories. I believe that the reason that many U.S. women
excessively use dairy in their diets and find it so distressing to consider
eliminating it, is that it tastes like "Mother." Those early experiences of
feeding while being cuddled by Mother are solidly in our memories. I wonder
if abm smells and tastes better to a woman who was fed this as an infant.
There is nothing that I suggest in a trial elimination that brings such
angst and grief as does the elimination of dairy. For some women, dairy
products, in some form, make up 50%+ of their diet. That is poor nutrition.
And they pass on this over-use to their children, even if they breastfeed
them.
Amniotic fluid tastes like what we eat too, I've read, so this all starts
before birth.
