Hello all,
I'm wondering about the questions surrounding use of St. John's
Wort. What kinds of ill effects would one think the baby (or mother for that
matter) would have on St. John's Wort?
I must admit I need a mini pharmacology lesson here as I don't have
a clue what an MAO inhibitor does to the body vs other antidepressants...
I do recall a TV segment 20/20 maybe? last winter stating that the
country of Germany has replaced the use of pharmaceuticals like Prozac in
mild to moderate depression cases with St. John's Wort because the SJW has
NONE of the side effects so noted with prozac.
If this is the case I wonder if our German friends could look up
some of the research and see if SJW has been looked at for why people don't
experience the side effects of other MAOs and since there aren't any noted
side effects would it then be safe?

wondering,
