I heard a talk last week by an obstetrician with an interest in "pelvic
girdle relaxation", Dr Alastair MacLennan (from Adelaide), and he said that
stopping breastfeeding definitely didn't help resolve this problem.
Unfortunately, he didn't have any answers.... he says the problem is more
common in some countries, eg Norway, and there may be a link with congenital
dyslocation of the hip in the same families. (Did you know guinea pigs have
to completely dislocate their hips to give birth?).
