In response to Kathleen Auerbach's post re. the Ezzo books.  I had a
mother last year who went to a church where that philosophy was popular.
It seems those books are very strict and rigid.  They push getting
babies onto a schedule that is regimental and unreasonable.  I breast
fed twins and never thought about a schedule.  When the first twin woke
for a night feeding, I did get the other up at the same time so I could
nurse them together. I wasn't being regimental, but I needed to sleep
sometime.  The emphasis in the book seems to be the schedule, not the
children.  Some people I have met, potty train their children at 18 mos.
or younger and I find that the child really isn't trained, the parent
is-to remind the child to potty every 2-3 hrs.  If a parent has to think
about the "schedule" so much, how can she ever have fun enjoying their
child?  Maybe I'm too laid back.  I do have 6 children and I am still
sane a get to where we need to be on time.
