Hi,
>I fail to see the logic in depriving the other twin of the warm, close,
>breastfeeding relationship experience just so both can have the same
>experience...{snip}

If you look at in a purely practical level, I see your point, but I
think this is "emotional logic". My best friend has identical twin boys,
and she weaned at 3 months for precisely this reason - only one twin
could breastfeed and she felt unhappy about bottle-feeding only one. In
fact, she felt guilty about anything that meant one was getting more
"attention" than the other. She tells me this constant guilt is very
normal for mothers of twins: while most of us have one baby, get used to
being a mother and then have another one, twin mothers are thrown in at
the deep end and she says it is emotionally a very difficult adaption.

She says that if she had *another* set of twins (Heaven forbid!) she'd
probably be fine about bottle feeding one and breastfeeding the other,
but at the time it was emotionally impossible for her. I think she'd say
that it is incredibly difficult for someone who has not had twins to
fully understand what it's like.
