Someone mentioned in relation to IBCLCs writing materials for
formula companies that "the ILCA Code of Ethics" prohibited any
association with formula companies. I could not find any such
reference in the "ILCA Standards of Practice for Lactation
Consultants", other than LCs being familiar with the WHO Code.
However, Article 16 of the new Code of Ethics for IBCLCs states (in
part) ........ " Ensure that professional judgment is not influenced
by any commercial considerations and that certification status is not
used in the promotion of commercial products or services."

I don't know whether this applies to the Ross booklet, which I have
not seen, but it is an interesting issue someone might like to refer
to the Chair of the IBLCE Discipline Committee (C/o IBLCE in Falls
Church).
