Is anyone looking for fetal alcohol syndrome, which I understand can
be of various degrees?  I think you are right to be concerned about
this mother.  Maybe it's OK, but maybe it's not.

If we act as if it doesn't matter, and it does matter, then it
matters. However, if we act as if it does matter, and it doesn't
matter, then it doesn't matter.
