Greetings,
I have been hearing about Lactnet from increasing numbers of my LC friends
and am beginning to feel left out. I am a hospital-based lactation
consultant, although I do not have any regular hours dedicated to lactation
consulting. My primary job is as the childbirth education coordinator for a
rapidly growing community hospital which presently has delivery rate of 120
births a month. I also do staff nursing on postpartum and occasionally in
the nursery and labor and delivery. I transferred from labor and delivery 6
months ago. I am an active member of the cross-training committe at the
hospital. We plan to add 14 LDRPs within the next year. I am an active
member of a local ILCA affiliate and am a member of its research committee.
I am looking forward to learning lots.
