is very young -- metronidazole would be a bad choice at his age  due to
potential sideeffects in the very young infant.
        I still think if the baby is positive for C. Difficile he could be
followed clinically unless he became toxic and treated with appropriate
antibiotics then if necessary.  Breastfeeding is probably helping him,
rather than the opposite, and I wouldn't recommend weaning.
