 One article I found says that the milk of diabetic mothers is different and obesity in baby can be a problem.....obesity can increase risk of diabetes in child.
The article looks at fasting blood levels in BF babies of diabetic mothers.  There isn't any analysis of the composition of the breast milk tho."Long-term impact of neonatal breast-feeding on body weight and glucose tolerance in children of diabetic mothers."    Diabetes Care, 25 (1) 16-22, 2002an old article from 1989 looked at the composition and volume of milk during the onset of lactation in a diabetic mother. What they found was higher fats, otherwise milk comp was similar in diabetic and non diabetic. Most of the articles are dated mid 80's to late 90's with a few early 2000's.  One of the articles commented on the fact that there is little research on the subject :-(  sorry info is sparse.  Pat in SNJ
