Wow Nikki, that is Judgemental.I also was formula fed, my mother was told by her Pediatrician in 1971 that Nursing would hurt and formula was just as good. My mother and I went through a period of time when I first became an IBCLC where she was defensive and felt guilty. Now she is Lactation's biggest cheer leader. She gives strangers my email if she finds out they are having Breast Feeding troubles. I made it through my BSN with a 3.6GPA and my Master's/CNM program with a 3.4. Now compared to my cousin who was exclusively Breast Fed for 1 year, yes I seem "stupid". She is a Lawyer, went to Fordham in New York and speaks 3 Languages. It is well shown via Research that people tune our and do not respond to negative or threatening statements. And to some parents the statement, idiot or stupis is very negative and inflammatory.
