I'm sorry, I disagree with this blanket statement. It depends on WHO is building the orphanage and what it's purpose is and what is provided for the children. There are hundreds of children in Kenya that are orphans living on the streets, huffing glue, panhandling, sleeping in gutters. I have a friend who has lived there and has built an orphanage to take in these kids, educate them, teach them a trade etc. These are not babies, of course. When you make a blanket recommendation, you are disregarding the needs of some that you know nothing about. That's why lactation field is not cook-book science, it is individualized and personalized, as it should be. Because there as some bad foster-homes out there, do we say no children should be placed in foster homes?

Not uncommon.....don't give money to people who want to build orphanages.
They are all bad- some just worse than others.
