She might try some sage tea to lower production. Start with 1-2 cups made of 1 coffeespoon full of dried herb in 1/2 liter of boiling water, sitting for 5 minutes (just like black tea is made), straining and sweetened to taste. If production lowers keep on 1-2 cups daily as long as needed, if no effect try 3-4 cups a day, if production goes down way too fast simply stop or take less. Not every one reacts the same to sage and not every dried herb is the same. Choose from a well known herbal tea brand. You can use the sage that is sold as kitchen herb. That may be stronger, so use less.

Warmly,

Subject: [LACTNET] relief for oversupply

Does anyone have any good tricks up their sleeves for extreme oversupply?
First baby, born a week ago, exclusively breastfed, nearly 6 ounces over
birth weight at 5 days.  Mother has tried complete drainage and block
feeding as per Gonnikes's article, but after three or four hours she is
desperate again.  Baby is now protesting some at coming to breast if it is
at all full, and having a hard time coping with the fire hose flow.

I know a few tricks, and am happy to see more mentioned here.
