Mary sent excellent info on Thick It.  It is usually used in conjunction 
with a swallowing team eval at a children's hospital.  It is not used 
casually, only for people with severe swallowing problems.  I don't see it 
as an answer for GER, have not heard GI rec. it for that -yet :-(  The 2 
children in our practice used it in fluids after severe head injuries, was 
started in rehab and continued for many mo.  Pat in SNJ
