Diana, thank you for your detailed response. I'm confused about some
things: For example, if domperidone is only 'good to start' AFTER the baby is
born, why do the Newman-Goldfarb Protocols of Induced Lactation include it's
use?

You probably don't have the answer, but I'm hoping someone does!

Also, your point about most galactogogue herbs not working during pregnancy
because of the different hormonal set than in lactation seems
reasonable...however, the mother in question IS lactating already!

You may have missed that part: She has a nearly 2 year old toddler who is
still breastfeeding (and still supplemented at the breast). The mother thinks
she is producing about 25% of what her toddler actually drinks at the breast.
So, it's not a lot production-wise, but her breasts ARE lactating breasts.

I guess I am wondering if we can sort of 'shock' the breasts into full-on
production mode as soon as possible, so that at least this mother can
exclusively breastfeed for a number of weeks instead of a number of days,
before needing to add the supplement.

This mom is totally unique! She keeps asking me questions that stump me and
keep me awake at night ;~>

Anyone else with further insight or ideas?

Blessings.
