Thank you for all the nice notes concerning Lactnet's recent award, and I
just wanted to say that if anyone writes any further notes, I would
appreciate a cc, as I am going nomail. I am going to Boston tomorrow, and
then on to Dublin to visit my mother's family for a week. My mother passed
away in July, and as you know, mothers are very important people. My mother
grew up in the depression, in Dublin. Her family was large, and her own
mother died at the age of 38 from breast cancer after having 14 children.
Seven lived. My mom was 8 at the time. My mom never stopped missing her
mother, and she was named after her, and my daughter Sally is named after
them both. I have never met her family, and therefore, my husband and two of
three daughters and I are going to now make this trip . (long story,
depression, WWII, separation of years and miles). I am going to walk the
streets where my mom walked, go to the house where she was born, and walk
over the bridge where she walked every day to school.... And I will carry
her spirit with me back to Dublin, her home. As I said, mothers are
important, and it was through her spirit and her tenacity, and her love that
I have the spirit and the strength and the tenacity to keep Lactnet going
after 11 years. I'll probably do it till I kick the old bucket myself. : )
Thanks again to the wonderful women who help with the Lactnet
administration. I could never do this alone.

Yeah for mothers, and Ireland, here I come. So, cc me on any love notes
please.

Warmly, Kathleen
