I'd like to read the entire article. Here's the bottom line from the news
blurb:

[Although more women in the peer support group were still breastfeeding at
10 days, 6 weeks, 8 weeks and 16 weeks, the difference between the groups is
not statistically significant.

Dr Patricia Muirhead, GP in Kilwinning and lead researcher, said: “This type
of peer support appeared to give a small increase in the duration of
breastfeeding, particularly in first babies and among women who intended to
breastfeed. The results did not show that peer support could increase
breastfeeding in this population at 6 weeks from 30%-50%*.”]

What I'd like to know is how many more women were still bf at these
intervals. The difference may not be "statistically significant," but for
those babies who continued to be bf, it makes a life-long difference!

Heather, please update us if you find out more about this study, and thank
you for sharing it with us.
