Dear Friends:
Alia describes an 18-month baby that has weaned from one breast, and is
still nursing on the other and wonders about the different colors of milk
from each breast.
My question is "will the baby take milk from both breasts?" If the
mother expresses some milk from the weaned side, will the baby drink it from a
spoon or a cup?
I am thinking about Goldsmith's sign. A baby who suddenly refuses to
take milk from one breast may be giving a warning of breast cancer; the cancer
may not show up for 5 years. Saber is another physician that has published
about Goldsmith's sign. Radiologists know about this too.
    warmly,
