I think the parents reaction to the film says "Don't tell me that anesthesia has anything to do with breastfeeding". That is too scary for them!  When I showed that film I had a lot of complaints from the Docs and Anesthesia because Moms would go back to them and say, "in that class I learned that my labor, and what I choose for pain relief, might impact my baby's ability to breastfeed". I think we should talk to parents about the importance of baby staying with Mom and skin to skin, and anesthesia affects.  Also point out the wide open mouth and readjusting until he "gets it right."  If they ignore the anesthesia component at least maybe they will insist on the baby staying with them, skin to skin.
