In reading about the adaptable breastfeeding couplet, it brings to mind a friend of mine. Her daughter is a single mother and a school teacher. When the daughter went back to work they decided Grandma would watch the baby at Grandma's house as she lives too far away for a morning and night commute.  The baby goes to Grandmas on Monday AM and returns on Thursday evening.
The Mom nurses only on weekends, Thursday to Sunday. She does not pump during the week and yet baby seems happy nursing on the weekends, with no additional food.
