Nikki, I am also very sorry to hear about this abused wife.  She will
hopefully stay in this country because, if they go back to India, her
husband would not likely be prosecuted for throwing acid in her face or her
motherinlaw for setting her on fire.  Some brides have suffered extremes of
revenge for not doing as she was told, even things she could not control,
such as producing the right offspring or having a c-section.
