Dear listmates,

I recently had occasion to ask a CNM colleague to prescribe APNO for a mom
whose cracks wouldn't heal even though we have worked on latch several times.
The co-pay was going to be $40.00, as the pharmacy charge was $100. Long
story short, the mom was unwilling to pay the $40.00 for the APNO. Is this
the going rate for a compounded Rx? Has anyone tried an OTC clotrimazole
product to mix with prescription mupirocin and betamethazone? Another pharmacy
told me they have made this before; their cost is $76.00 and it would again
incur a $40.00 co-pay. If anyone has any suggestions about how to get around
this high cost, I would love to hear them. Thank you for your imput.
