With respect to Rachel, I don't think we have quite got the definition right
yet.  It really is the vegan diet the child is eating that is half the
reason he has been removed; the other half is the breastmilk.  Maybe in
veganism human products aren't counted against the dietary principles--like
swallowing one's own saliva, or having the fetus connected through the
umbilicus.

It does seem to me that a vegan diet for babies would always include
breastmilk.  Rather than being a contradiction, perhaps there's another
explanation from vegan philosophy.
