Here on the border between El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, if you
say "dar la teta" that means bottle-feeding!  And it doesn't usually mean
bottle feeding of mother's milk.  "Dar el pecho" (giving the breast) is the
most common and the more formal is "amamantar" .

I guess this just proves that a language that is spoken in so many different
countries needs to be tailored to the particular geographic area or you can
go very very wrong.
