Jennifer,
I have also had a client like this who had 3 c-secs due to "Failure to
Progress" after being induced because she hadn't gone into labor... in
addition, her milk came in but she also did not seem to be able to eject
the milk normally. We never did find a solution for her, so if you do, I
will be interested!
One facet you want to be sure to explore is sexual abuse, emotional
trauma and abortion. I've had two clients who could not let down........
The first was a mystery for some weeks because she could let down to a
pump but NOT the baby. My colleague talked with her, asked her how she
felt about being a mother, and the woman began to cry and talk about an
abortion and how guilty she now felt. Later that day she let down for
the first time with baby. The other had her first two children 'stolen'
in a nasty, one-sided divorce where her husband had all the power, and
she confessed to being terrified of losing this baby as well.
