I just read the letters Cindy mentioned to two formula companies from
"parents." We really have no way of knowing if these are really from parents or if
they are simply planted by the formula company-especially the one singing the
praises about Enfamil Lipil. Of course, parents feel confident that whatever
formula that is given to their baby in the hospital is just fine. Most have no
idea that what is used in the hospital is determined by the formula company
salesman, not any health care provider. The formula that is used in most US
hospitals is simply whatever is given to them for free. There is little
consideration of any other issues. A planted letter like this would help parents
unquestionably accept the formula used in the hospital and then purchase it when the
baby was discharged. Marketing, pure and simple.
