Anne,
Thank you for your thorough explanation of the role of the CDPs. I had posed
my question directly to the ad campaign coordinator via e-mail, but I suspect
I didn't get a response as priorities are to address the current dilemma.

I will bring this valuable information to the attention of my local ILCA
affiliate(s) as I think your description clearly shows us that the CDPs carry a
responsibility to coordinate activities related to the media campaign within
their regions. I'm interpreting your description of the role of the CDP as not
intending to be solely institutional-based in its outreach as I was told, when
you stated "3. offer trainings to local health care workers and 4. coordinate
with other groups in the region interested in working on this".

I don't know whether it will change anything, but I think the conversation
needs to take place at our affiliate meetings as to how we are all going to
collectively work together to address the campaign activities.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond to my inquiry as I suspected that
the CDP in my region needs to eventually collaborate with others in the
region. Perhaps the postponement in the program has caused some confusion in terms
of the role of the CDP. But now I know I can expect to be embraced within
the framework of the program once it begins and I won't have to necessarily
reinvent the wheel independently in my community.

As I saw the following quote by Margaret Mead posted on a wall at the zoo
this evening while enjoying the holiday lights with my family, I thought about
our conversations in relation to the breastfeeding campaign and to our
resolutions:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change
the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
