The question of using supplies for other than original intended uses
has come up a number of times on LN.  There seems to be a wide
variety of opinions on the subject.  We do not seem to have any
problem with it ourselkves (at least for right now-who knows what
questions may come up later).
We use Joy soap because the infection control department likes the
fact that it has some alcohol in it.  Each mom using a pump (or
Haberman, etc.) is given a specimen bottle with some in and a hand
written label to comply with OSHA reqauirements.  We fill them from
a large bottle kept on the unit.  Whatever is left in the specimen
bottle when mom goes home is tossed out.  At one time we tried to
get sample sized bottles from the company, but had no success.
