I would certainly hope this mom would get support from a LLL group.
However, there are 2 points that would make the relationship work
better (the relationship with the LLL group).  First, it would be
helpful if she, in introducing herself, would give enough info for
the group to understand why someone would be bottle feeding at a LLL
meeting.  She wouldn't have to give the whose history certailnly,
but stating that while she isn't breastfeeding, she wants support
and information on the kind of parenting that LLL supports.
Secondly, she would need to realize that the group's enthusiasm for
breastfeeding and everything that's great about it shouldn't have to
be squelched because a bottle feeding mom is there.  Certainly we
would hope that the enthusiasm for breastfeeding isn't put in terms
of degrading those that don't breastfeed, even without the presence
of someone using the bottle.  On the other hand, the adoptive mom
needs to be prepared for the enthusiasm and not take it too
personally.
