Hi Cheryl. I usually advise mothers to hold baby closely while the
immunization is given...but not to be breastfeeding during it to avoid
being bitten accidentally. Also, I would not want a baby to associate
breastfeeding with pain elsewhere in the body, although this process might
work for some mothers and babies just fine. I never did it with my kids.

We always nursed right after it.

However, not "letting" a mom do something..to help her child goes against
my grain, as you can imagine. (which is pretty short these days)...

And all that, and I don't have the reference for you..either. Sorry. Kathleen
