I've just noticed that very different amounts of lecithin are
suggested by Ruth Lawrence and Jack Newman for chronic plugged ducts
or recurrent mastitis. Lawrence (pg 273) says 1 tablespoon (~15 ml)
per day while Newman (Ultimate BF Book of Answers pg 156) says 1
tablespoon OR 1-2 capsules (1200 mg each) 3-4 times per day. Thus a
mom following Newman's advice might take 4 times as much lecithin as
a mom following Lawrence's recommendation -- possibly more, depending
on how many mg are in a tablespoon.
Thoughts?
Does anyone have some lecithin handy who could share the label
recommendations for intake? (Just wondering how that compares to the
above.)
