Subject: pumping after abdomenal surgery
Date: Thu, Jun 22, 2000, 4:52 PM

Kathy: As some of you might remember, I had a full hysterectomy 5 weeks ago
while breastfeeding. I have also had the misfortune of having two other
surgeries during my breastfeeding tenure: one included major antibiotic
flooding of my system for a ruptured apendix. It is possible to both pump
and to bf directly (depending upon the other drugs received) soon after
surgery. I've done it personally, and I've helped many mothers through this
in my practice.
