I am coming a little late to this thread. I find one big problem is for
staff to be able to EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS of feeding. So they need to
know to stay and observe a feeding and what drinking the milk looks, sounds
like. They need to know normal voids and stools for first week or so. And
they need to know what to do if a baby won't/can't nurse.  Because they will
say "well what do we do at 3am when the LC is not here and the baby just
won't latch?" You can give a little anatomy/physiology especially about
latching on deeply, as I call it.
