Please, all, be aware that using poison blocks containing the most common second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides in the apiary in an "off-label application" may be a serious secondary-poisoning hazard to non-target wildlife.  Brodifacoum-based rodenticides, in particular, are implicated in the deaths of hawks, owls and other wildlife.  For this, and other reasons, the most toxic of the anticoagulant rodenticides will no longer be readily available to the public after, I believe, 2011.
