John, check out Randy Oliver’s article in the Jan. issue of ABJ or go to 
his web site.  The articles are usually posted there.  Great advice in 
there about buying microscopes.  Then go on ebay and look up binocular 
microscopes.  There are a ton of them there.  I am also looking for one 
that is good that I can afford.  Good luck.
