Here in Hawaii we get scorpions and centipedes under the top lid. Watched a drama unfold once when I pulled the lid off, the centipede dived like a sea 
monster between the frames, came back up with above 5 girls trying to find the weak spots. Like being in a NatGeo environment. Centipedes I've seen 
approach 10 inches, hear it's a nasty bite.
