Our NICU is revising their policies regarding the use of kangaroo pumps
(continuous feeding pumps) and breastmilk. The questions center around the
length of time that breastmilk could be at room temperature in the feeding
pouch or "bag". Typically this is thawed breastmilk. Currently our policy
indicates four hours. Do any NICUs use a longer time frame ? Would anyone
be willing to share their policy information?
