Does someone have first-hand knowledge regarding the risks of breastfeeding
during pregnancy when the mom has a HX of premature labor? I've looked in
Lawrence's book, and cannot find an exact reference. The BAB says that it is
a consideration which the mom should take when deciding to breastfeed during
a pregnancy, however there are no references sited.

I have had a couple of moms ask me this question of late, one who' s dr. told
her that her recent miscarriage occured as a result of her breastfeeding!

If breastfeeding IS indeed a risk with this type of HX, how do you all
suggest telling the mom how to wean? Abruptly? (I hope not!) Please let me
know what you know.

Thanks,
Brenda Phipps, IBCLC
