Hello all,
PTP, I have a breastfeeding mom in the US who is traveling to Brazil for
work without her 7.5 month old baby in a few weeks. Baby is eating just a
few solids. She will be gone for 5-7 days. I was wondering if anyone
could help answer some questions.

1) Do you think she will be able to internationally ship her breastmilk
back home while she is there? If so, do you think her hotel could help her
obtain dry ice to ship it? Do you think this is doable? (I know it's not
ideal, but she is worried that she might not be able to pump enough milk
before she has to leave, so just trying to think of some options ahead of
time.) Any ideas about that?

2) Do you think she will be able to bring pumped breastmilk back on the
plane when she comes home?

I read this link:
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/children/formula.shtm

I don't know if that would also apply to an international flight,
especially if getting on the plane in another country? Also, that link
kind of makes it sound like they expect you to have the infant or toddler
with you. If she pumps while there, and freezes it at the hotel, will she
be able to bring it home? Or do you think she should just pump to maintain
her supply and not try to transport it?

3) Any precautions or advice on what she should eat or avoid eating while
she is there?

Thanks so much for any help you can give!

Sonya
