Dani,

Sandra Lang's presentation on cup feeding at ILCA last year in Scottsdale
had some of the info you are seeking...in one UK hospital bf rates went
from 1% to 57% in NICU w/fewer NG tubes needed....cup feeding gentler
experience when baby ventilated and cup helps babies adapt; stimulates
gastric juices, lipases, sleeping...etc etc.

This IMHO was one of the very best presentations of the whole conference.
If you can, get hold of the tape--I'd strongly recommend the video over
the audio because of the videos she shows of cup feeding in reality and
the slides of protocols, etc.
