I am  interested in the perspective of others.
This was a very alert, relaxed and  cooperative infant who was
offered the breast frequently. She nursed  immediately after delivery,
nursed well again at 8 hours and with little  difficulty and no pain several
times during first 48 hours.Mom was relaxed,  had midwife, doula and LC
support throughout. Family remained in hospital  to provide 24/7
support.

I donīt know about the loose placenta, but would bet that the lines above  
could do the trick. She was at ease, in control and had ultimate support. Apart  
from the CS, this looks as an ideal situation to me.
