We used the LATCH for a couple of years--it didn't give us the information
that we needed to really know how baby was doing. We are currently using a
checklist to periodically check latch that has all the components of a good
latch (nose & chin touch breast, roots, satisfied after feed, lips flared) as
well as problem areas that need to be addressed (difficultly latching,
infrequent swallow, mother needs assistance). This gives us more useful
information.
