Regarding the fragile infant of the rubella negative mother and whether or not mom should get the vaccine:  someone said rubella is a pretty benign disease in a child.  I told my mother-in-law the same thing, and she informed me that her 2 year old daughter had died of it.  That was in the 1930's, and I guess she could have had the type of measles wrong, but it certainly gave me pause.  I'd have to vote for having the mom practice good birth control and wait until baby was stronger before getting the vaccine.  Joyce Jones RNC
