Hi Susan,
I don't reckon you'll lose the hot topic status of scales....practice and
opinion is too widely divergent.
I really like your idea of having a session at a major conference on this.
However, I doubt that this would be something that one person could do, who
decides what is "appropriate". That said, if you had 3 people, one "always
use a scale" one "never use a scale" and one "sometimes use a scale" who
shared their practice and reasoning I think it could be really very
valuable. No pat answers but seeing things from different perspectives. I
know I'd enjoy such a presentation (need at least 1hr for it).
The cultural differences in practice are so interesting.
