This is a good question. I wonder if a doc of pharmacology might be able to help answer this. As a dietitian, I'd be looking for drug nutrient interactions but also concerned that nutrient absorption is compromised which leads me to wonder...is this med absorbed in the stomach? The small or large intestine? Metabolized by the liver? etc. What are the details of the patient's gastric bypass? How much GI tract does she have remaining? What are her normal bowel habits? What is her normal diet? Does she take any supplements? So many questions. Interesting. I hope others submit.
Jeanne
