Dear Heather, I remember when a report came out linking dev delay and
alcohol ingestion via br milk.  A French ped in our nursery poo-pood the
whole idea.  She said then all the babies in France would be
developmentally delayed and she just didn't believe it!

I think we are talking about 2 different things.  1. a mom who has an
occassional glass of wine or a beer with her pizza and 2. an alcoholic.  I
think in addition to whatever alcohol the baby gets via breastmilk they
also get very different quality of mothering.  This in itself could account
for differences in development.  A baby who is fed, but otherwise neglected
