Ellen: Dr. Newman has already responded about the retin-A and dovonex,
but he didn't know what psorcon is. Psorcon is a high potency topical
steroid. We've already discussed topical steroids, and since absorption
from topicals is low (depends on the surface area of skin covered and the
degree of inflammation, but still relatively low unless there's total body
involvement), and oral prednisone is compatible with breastfeeding, this
should pose no problem. Hope this helps, Alicia Dermer, MD, IBCLC.
